Dori Ostermiller and Jennifer Rosner present their latest books Tues, Sept. 14 at 7 pm

This evening offers a mix of fiction and memoir.
Dori Ostermiller will read from her new novel Outside the Ordinary World, about difficult marriages past and present. As a landscape painter in a deteriorating marriage slides toward an affair, she recalls her own parents' troubled marriage and the pain it inflicted on them and on her.
Jennifer Rosner will present her memoir If a Tree Falls: A Family's Quest to Hear and Be Heard. In it Rosner chronicles the birth of her two daughters, both (quite unexpectedly) born deaf. Rosner begins a quest to unearth the history of deafness in her family, which eventually leads her to discover deaf ancestors in Eastern Europe.

World Book Night is a campaign to put books in the hands of people who read very little or not at all.
You pick the place: hospital or clinic, school, shelter... lots of possibilities. Be creative.

All you need to become a giver is a little time, a love of books, and the desire to give something to your community. The books are free--to you and to the people you give them to. Apply to be a giver, then the books come to us, and you pick them up here before April 23.
