Soap Opera Confidential:

Writers and Soap Insiders On Why We'll Tune in Tomorrow

As the World Turns Restlessly By the Guiding Light of Our Lives

As the World Turns, Love of Life, The Guiding Light, Search for Tomorrow, The Young and the Restless,  Days of Our Lives --not to mention Dark Shadows and Dynasty--these programs are part of our lives and our cultural lore. The essays in Soap Opera Confidential  look at soaps from a variety of perspectives--as a nostalgic part of growing up, as a family bond, as a window into the culture of the time. With  a generous selection of contributions from the likes of Elinor Lipman, Ann Hood, and Leslea Newman, as well as television writers and critics, Soap Opera Confidential both lets us immerse ourselves in the world of soaps and gives us perspective on it.

Several contributors to the volume will read during the evening.
