Growing up among the beauties of the Vermont countryside, Tovar Cerulli felt close to nature from his boyhood. While still in high school, he embraced vegetarianism. But later in life he reconsidered that decision and became an omnivore. What's more, he became a hunter, to better understand how human and natural life are interwoven, and to be aware of exactly what his decision entailed. Cerulli interweaves his own story with ecological and historical considerations, and tries to counter knee-jerk reactions on both sides of the vegetarian-omnivore divide.
