In this new book Christian McEwen explores and extends the notion of listening to encompass a variety of receptive stances to the objects of our attention.  This involves taking the time to be attentive, both concentrated and open.  Whether it involves  silence, nature, music, or prayer, this mode of attention can spark creativity, appreciation, and a richer, deeper life.

Christian McEwen grew up on the borders of Scotland and now lives in Western Massachusetts. She is the author of World Enough and Time: On Creativity and Slowing Down, Tomboys, The
