Fred Contrada Reads from THE COLUMNS OF FRED CONTRADA Wed., June 14 at 7 pm

reading from his new collection

For many years, Fred Contrada's columns in the Springfield Republican were a not-to-be-missed item for newspaper readers in the Pioneer Valley. Fred ranged widely, writing about anything that interested him, from people he knew, to hiking trips he took, to Bob Marley, to struggles with foreign languages. This volume collects columns from 2009 to 2015, and showcases Fred's interest in people and places both local and farther afield, as well as his verbal flair and humor.

"Curiosity, fearlessness, insight and honesty--combine these attributes with the ability to make words dance off the page and you have captured the essence of a brilliant reporter and columnist.  You have described Fred Contrada."---Attorney William Newman, author of When the War Came Home
