Jendi Reiter Presents Origin Story Tues, July 9 at 7 pm

Against the backdrop of late-1990s New York City sexual politics, the characters in Origin Story—a comic book writer: a young artist waiting for adoption on condition that he repress part of  his sexuality: and a fashion photographer struggling with the conflict between love and religious faith-- strive to redefine home and family.  From a Miami comic-book convention to a Christian men's retreat in Georgia, from an elite New Age wellness center to a BDSM dungeon in Manhattan, Origin Story follows their quest to determine the nature of healing and the price we pay for it.

Jendi Reiter is the author of the novel Two Natures , which won the Rainbow Award for Best Contemporary Gay Fiction and was a finalist for the Lascaux Prize and the Book Excellence Awards; the short story collection An Incomplete List of My Wishes; and five poetry books and chapbooks, most recently Made Man. Their writing has won awards from the Iowa Review, New Letters, Solstice Lit Mag, and the Massachusetts Cultural Council, among others. They are the editor of the writing resource site
