Will Daughtry is 16 and not quite 5 feet tall, trying to resign himself to his not-impressive height. His best friends--Drew, 6'3 , who also happens to be his step-brother, and Monica, 5'10, on whom he has a secret crush-- help to reconcile him to his condition. But then things take a wholly unexpected turn: he begins to grow --very fast-- at last attaining a stature he can be proud of. But that stature comes at a price, and the phrase "growing pains" takes on more meanings than one as his new height begins to have an unexpected impact on his life.
